Popular Twitch star Marlon Garcia made an unexpected appearance in Sioux Falls last Tuesday, drawing large crowds and plenty of excitement across Sioux Falls. Marlon was first spotted at the Great Plain Zoo on Kiwanis Avenue, where several fans quickly gathered after word spread on social media. Later in the afternoon, he made his way to JL Beers on Phillips Avenue, bringing even more attention as his fans rushed to see him
Eddie Mulbah, shared his thoughts on seeing Marlon Garcia: “It felt very surreal because he was so majestic but I wasn’t really a huge fan. I just know about him from TikTok and that he’s insanely rich too.” Even people who weren’t long time followers of Marlon still felt the excitement of seeing a major internet personality up close. It was so chaotic that the police had to escort Marlon Garcia through the streets. So many people from different schools came to see this famous streamer and take photos with him but because of many people and the police escort it was hard for people to get a photo and meet someone they’ve wanted to meet for a while.
Josue Cortez Perez, talked about what the moment meant to him. “I felt amazing after meeting Marlon, because he is someone that I’ve been wanting to meet for months. I didn’t get a photo with him, due to the cop stopping us, but I got a video of him, he is majestic.”
Even though not everyone got the chance to meet Marlon directly, people said it was pretty unforgettable and amazing to see him. For Sioux Falls fans, seeing such a popular online figure visit their city made an ordinary Tuesday feel like something special. I think this was really special because it brought the community together.
