Katarina Jefferis is a fine arts senior at Jefferson High School with a passion for performance. She has spent her high school years balancing school, leadership, and creativity, all while preparing for her future in French and film production.
Her creative journey began with music. She was first inspired by her father, who is a gifted singer. She then auditioned for show choir as a freshman despite doubting her ability. To her surprise, she received unforgettable news: a spot on the varsity team. That achievement alone sparked newfound confidence. She continues to grow as a performer and celebrates each milestone with pride. Today, she is a standout member of the show choir and theater programs, bringing energy and devotion to every performance she encounters.
When she’s not on stage, she’s leading in Student Council, connecting in French Club, excelling in the National Honor Society, and supporting her peers through Hope Squad, a support group that promotes kindness and encouragement among classmates. “My biggest goal is to ensure that everyone at Jefferson feels supported and cared for,” she explains. To achieve this, she challenges herself to meet new people each week, which she is certain highlights the individuality and vibrancy of her school community.
High school has taught Katarina lessons she plans to carry into her future: resilience, creativity, and the importance of connection. She hopes to continue exploring new perspectives through language and storytelling by combining her adoration of French culture and her interest in film production.
Her advice to students is simple yet powerful: “Let go of the idea of perfection. Persistence and self-discipline will help you grow into the best version of yourself.” With her voice and compassion, Katarina Jefferis is leaving Jefferson not only as a performer but as a leader who continues to make her community stronger.
