Noah Duran is a senior here at Jefferson and is involved in both Football and wrestling. He is known as a
hard working A-plus student who consistently pushes himself in everything he does. Outside of school, Noah Duran works at smoothie king and spends free time with his friends and family. Balancing school, sports, and work is not easy, but Noah Duran continues to give his best effort no matter what is on his schedule.
For Noah Duran going above and beyond means putting in extra work anytime even
when people aren’t watching and keep pushing yourself everyday. Noah Duran has faced so many challenges but one that has really stuck with him was scoring an important point when it mattered most. That experience showed him that all the hard work pays off in the end.
A message that Noah Duran would give younger athletes is “ to start working for your goals early” because having goals gives you something to work for and helps guide you through life. Noah Duran balances leadership while focusing on his own improvement by leading by example, doing what he needs to do but also being able to set other examples for other athletes.
Every time Noah Duran steps onto the mat, he thinks about representing Jefferson High School, not just himself. He also wrestles for his coaches and his teammates, always wanting to perform better for them. His dad has had a big influence on him as well, always encouraging Noah to be the best version of himself and phishing him to keep improving. Noah Duran had a moment this past weekend in Sioux City he went against a kid from Lincoln High school that beat him really bad in the past and this time Noah made it to the championship. From that match Noah Duran was extremely proud of himself. Noah continues to push himself every single day not for just himself but also for his loved ones that are surrounding him.
