2025 will be over soon, and a lot has happened. It is time to count down some of the top and most memorable moments from 2025.
January was full of new beginnings and preparation for the year to come. Everyone had their resolutions and was excited to see what 2025 was going to bring. Some big moments in January included January 7th, when major wildfires blazed through California, destroying homes and land in their path. They lasted about a month, with the fires fully contained by the 31st. January 19th was when TikTok shut down for a day, and people absolutely lost their minds.
February kicked off with Beyoncé winning Album of the Year at the Grammys on February 2nd. Then, on the 9th, the Eagles beat the Chiefs 40–22 at the 59th Super Bowl. On the same day, Kendrick Lamar performed during the halftime show, with appearances from people such as Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams.
March was a pretty quiet month, and nothing super out of the ordinary happened.
April started with Katy Perry and her group of six women going to space for their 11-minute trip. On the 21st, Pope Francis passed away.
May had the Met Gala leading the way, with many star celebrities dressed to impress at the yearly event put on by Anna Wintour. The month came to a close with Taylor Swift announcing on the 30th that she had successfully bought back all of her music.
June began with the start of Love Island’s 7th season and broke records with over 18.4 billion streams during the six-week-long show.
July featured Coldplay on their world tour, which on the 16th made the mistake of outing a CEO cheating on his wife via the kiss cam, spurring global parodies.
August saw the release of KPop Demon Hunters, which received over 325 million views. The month wrapped up with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announcing their engagement.
September began with the assassination of Charlie Kirk and ended with Aaron Judge taking the MLB batting crown.
October started with The Life of the Showgirl being released and receiving negative reviews, and came to a close with a Louvre heist on the 19th.
November was kicked off with the 54th annual NYC Marathon on the 2nd, and the month came to an end with the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Now we’re in December, with 31 days in the month, and some things are bound to happen. Even bigger yet, 2026 will include events such as the Winter Olympics, the World Cup, and America celebrating its 250th birthday.
