Don’t have a clue what you want to do after college? Do not fret. Jefferson High School is opening doors to more than just students this fall; it is also welcoming several new College and Career Access Advisors whose mission is to go beyond the classroom. Meet the College and Career Access department, where the goal is to prepare students for life after graduation and offer support in both career readiness and college planning.
Led by Director, Jessica Carlson, the department is made up of advisors Kate Telkamp, Jesus Gonzalez, Bradyn Medrano, and Myah Selland. You can find them in the H wings upstairs. They’re easy to contact; just stop in their office or email any of them to book an appointment. Students are noticing a difference already with them being here. Senior Amirrah Jackson says, “I was really lost before but now I have a feeling of what I want to do now.” With the new team of advisors, Jefferson High School hopes to bridge the gap between high school and what comes next, giving students the tools to dream big and the skills to achieve it.
