The Jefferson Carnival is organized and run by the Student Council members. It takes place right after the Homecoming pep rally. The carnival started as an idea last school year, and has continued since. Student Council President, Nora Weaver, and Vice-President Emma Pearce were so excited to be a part of holding the carnival.“The idea of the carnival was that before there used to be like a pizza party thing but decided it would be more fun to do a carnival instead!” said Pearce and Weaver.
At the carnival there are many fun things to do like an inflatable obstacle course, game booths, food trucks and more. A few brave teachers even volunteered to take a turn in the dunk tank during the carnival. The carnival started immediately following the pep rally, and students were given the choice to stay and enjoy the fun or head out early. The food trucks that were at the carnival were SDSU Ice Cream, SoDak Soda, Taqueria Juanita, and Backyard Grill. The ice cream truck was especially popular as it was a warm day!
The carnival is a great and enjoyable way of bringing students together!
