Do you love dressing up for and going to all the football games? On game nights, students look forward to the filled student section and the intense school spirit. With the start of game season comes certain roles and responsibilities that students must honor.
First off, bring the energy to the student section and make sure to participate in chants and cheers by being loud and enthusiastic.The student section sets the tone for the game and can bring confidence to uplift the team’s spirit. Make sure to follow along with the cheerleaders and have fun with everyone!
Within the student section are certain roles that we all have. The front row consists of the seniors who are in their last year and have been waiting for their time to shine by helping lead the student section. Following behind comes the juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. Being respectful of this is also important. “I feel like other grades join the juniors’ student section and don’t really listen when you tell them to move up,” said junior Abby VanRoekel. The order keeps the student section organized and gives everyone something to look forward to as they move up in grade level.
Lastly, make sure we keep the section clean and make sure that we are school appropriate.This includes cleaning up leftover trash and using school-appropriate language while cheering. Going along with being respectful in our section also comes with the teachers, administrators, and the security staff who are there to make sure everyone is safe. Following all of these guidelines will guarantee an amazing student section and will represent what Jefferson truly is.
