Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m here to share a few tips on the dos and don’ts of taking semester tests. As a so-ready-to-graduate senior, trust me, you want to pay attention.
If I could go back in time, I would. These tips would have helped me do better on my semester exams. The first tip is to try your absolute best to get rid of any distractions you have. Put your phone away or on Do not Disturb. As a result, you will have study times that are dedicated to studying.
My second tip when you are studying is to rewrite the content you want to memorize. Do this multiple times, so you have the information in your mind. Walk around saying what you wrote down to help it stay in your mind, or if you want to have fun with it, turn it into a song that’s catchy, so you can repeat it on and on.
My third tip is to find a teacher you trust who knows the concept and would be able to help you. If you don’t quite understand your classroom teacher’s way of explaining a concept, a different teacher’s method might stick in your mind. This practice has helped me a lot.
My fourth tip is to get your sleep. I know this is hard, but, trust me, you will thank me later. Sleep is a wonderful power that helps you prepare mentally. You will perform better than you would if you were tired or sleepy. Sleep is critical; it will help you remember everything you’ve learned and you’ll be happy you did!
Finally, take it easy on yourself. Everything will be okay. Take a deep breath, slow down, and take your time because your mental health is most important. Studying all night and staying up late will add to your stress when you are trying to remember everything on exam day.
Thank you for spending time with me, and, hopefully, these tips will help. Good luck on exams!
