What high school did you attend? In the first graduating class of Roosevelt High School in 1992. Attended Washington High school previous to Roosevelt.
What activities were you involved in when you were in high school? Football, Basketball, baseball
Where did you graduate from college? Augustana 1998
What was your major? Double major in math and physics as well as secondary education
What is your history in the school district? This is Mr Conrad’s 27th year in the Sioux Falls School District. He first taught calculus and AP physics and coached football and baseball at Lincoln High School for eleven years. He then moved to Washington High School where he was an assistant principal for seven years and head principal for four years before moving back to the westside to open Jefferson High School. As of August 1, Mr Conrad will move to the Instructional Planning Center and lead as one of the district’s two Assistant Superintendents.
What do you like to do in your free time? Golfing, fishing, and playing bean bags.
What is your dream vacation? Somewhere with sunshine, palm trees, and water.
If you could have dinner with someone famous, who would it be? Kirby Puckett as he was the man he looked up to as a kid.
Favorite fast food restaurant? Jimmy Johns
Favorite book? The Glass Castle
Favorite movie? Remember the Titans
Favorite song? No favorite and likes all genres, but he would listen to something from Metallica One when he was a kid before baseball games.
What do you like best about being the head principal at Jefferson? He likes seeing staff and students daily and getting to observe the great things people are capable of, whether it’s a student in the hallway or teacher in a classroom. You get to learn from so many people, and you get to see that there are many great people in Sioux Falls.
